Sometimes getting started is the hardest step towards any successful endeavor. There are always so many hurdles, obstacles, injuries and blah, blah, blah….just a bunch of EXCUSES!!

Excuses are usually derived from fear of the unknown or fear of stepping out of your comfort zone. Unfortunately in most cases, what is ‘known’ is not right and it is what has gotten you into your current situation.

In this past year, working with Sharon has made me grow as a trainer and a person but, it has also made me way more confident to call people on their bullshit of “I can’ts”.

This 65 year old woman during this past year has overcome every fear imaginable.

Here is a text from Sharon this past Friday morning (sorry for sharing a personal conversation Sharon):

“Thanks seems like such a small word for what you have helped me accomplish this past year.

As I was doing my workout today, I kept thinking of things that I could do today but couldn’t do a year ago.

While I was doing the activity of the tires today, I was remembering when we started doing them a year ago and you held my hands and walked backwards! Do you remember that?

Well I’m not running through the tires like many do but I was able to get through them without stopping. That’s an accomplishment for me.

There are so many things that I can do now and I won’t bore you with listing them.

Anyway I want to say thank you.

I enjoy bootcamp and it has become a priority in my life. In fact I turned down a job today because I didn’t want to miss a workout.

I look forward to working with you and your team in the coming year. Have a great weekend.”

No matter what challenge I’ve thrown at her, big or small, she has taken it head on.

Has she been scared?

Has she messed up or failed a few times?

Have we shed a few tears together during workouts?

Has she gotten back up each time and persevered until she got it?

Yes, Yes, Yes and Hell Yes!

Does she still have fears?

Does she still struggle at a few things?

Will we shed more tears together?

Does she still keep pushing on, knowing that with each workout she’ll be a little stronger and agile in her 70’s, 80’s and 90’s?

Yes, Yes, Yes and Hell Yes!

Sharon has taken control of her life. She has regained her physical freedom to be able to enjoy the best life possible. She will be healthier tomorrow than she was yesterday. Her best years are the years waiting ahead.

Congratulations to Sharon for her courage, strength, patience and persistence to be her best.

She has already inspired so many people, I hope this inspires you to be your best too.
