“I want to change and be the best me that I can be but right now I am a MESS!”

I am 65, morbidly obese, and have been basically a couch potato for way to long.

Staying on a healthy eating plan is hard and because of little to no activity, I have no stamina or endurance.  Here I am retired and too tired to enjoy life.  I have joined several fitness facilities lacked the self-motivation and “stick-with-it-ness” to stay on track to reach any success.

I lacked accountability and did not place myself high enough on the “important things to do ladder” to get much accomplished.

So the only person I ended up hurting was me.

I started working with Derek on Friday, May 10.  I remember that first workout so well.  After every activity, I was sucking air and needed recovery time.  That weekend I was so sore and movement was so painful but on Monday morning I showed up for workout #2 committed to making this work.

In the beginning  I struggled with every activity but as time went by I gradually saw improvement and I feel so proud when I begin to do even the simplest activity that in the beginning was impossible. I am slow but like the Eveready Energizer Bunny I keep on going.

Knowing that someone has scheduled a set time for me gives me accountability and Derek has been so patient.  He is taking me from where I am and adjusting workouts to fit my abilities and needs.

I want to be healthy and even though working out is not easy for me, I am going to stick with it.  I actually look forward to my workouts and would not miss for anything!
