This week’s Transformation Tuesday success story features Heather Pettola:
Heather started with me almost a year ago at the old outdoor bootcamp location. I remember she started with a couple of friends, coworkers and her sister.
They were dedicated, they worked extremely hard for a few short months but…. one by one they all fell off the wagon never to be seen or heard from again!
To my surprise February 17th this year when I got an email with the subject line: New Bootcamp Registration for Heather Pettola
I thought ‘Holy sh!t she’s back for more!’
Boy was I right.
Not only was Heather back but, she was back with a vengeance.
Since her first day back there has been a different look in her eyes. A look of determination.
A look that finally says that this time is the last time I’m starting over!
So has her journey since been all smooth sailing since??
Of course not.
In late April, early on a Saturday morning I was strolling through the aisle of Walmart doing a little shopping when my phone started to blow up with text messages from fellow bootcampers and one of our trainers Rich Berrian.
The subject from everyone was HELP!! BOOTCAMPER IN DISTRESS!!!
Heather had made a Facebook post earlier that morning that she was really discouraged with her lack of progress and that she was sounding like she was giving up.
So I immediately called her up from the store to find out the root of her issues. 30 minutes later we concluded that even though Heather had been busting her ass working out every day consistently, she had a major problem with food. Her diet was a mess!
From Heather: “I really wanted to pass along to everyone that I really didn’t start seeing my results until I went to your nutritional seminar and learned how to change my views on food and what to eat.
Bootcamp for me was much more than a workout!
It was a complete change of lifestyle.
I was raised in a not so healthy environment were it was common to eat ice cream and fried chicken for breakfast.
I tried every diet from Atkins to Weight Watches and counting calories was all I knew.
I thought starving myself and depriving myself from things I loved would be the only way to lose weight.
But by my surprise I learned I could lose weight and eat things I liked if I just changed the times I ate them and eat more frequently instead of skipping meals.
At the end of day it was the training and nutritional education together that helped me start my journey to a new me!!
I truly owe that to you or I’d still be where I was one year ago because food has always been my biggest fight!!”

Heather has now lost over 50 pounds in the past year and lost more than 30 pounds since late April.
She is a true success story and motivation to many women (and men, myself included) that no matter what is going on in her life before she starts her workout, she WILL kick ass today.
It doesn’t matter if she has to change her own flat tire an hour before her workout on US 19 in the blistering heat…
….or if she just finished working a 12 hour shift, cooking dinner for the family and doing her motherly responsibilities all of that NOISE stays at the door and she is here today to make progress.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
Her fire is burning and it’s burning hot.
She is proof that it is never too late to start, start over or push harder.
