Here’s my story.. 2015-12-23 16.13.58

My passion is for singing, for years I have been singing lead vocals with my band every weekend.

The one complication with that is that I also have a case of stage fright and to combat that I would always have a drink or two (or three) to relax me.

During my gigs, I’d have friends and fans constantly bringing me fruity drinks and shots to the stage….. This habit obviously is not a healthy one for my weight or my health.

Over the years I put on multiple pounds. I got more and more uncomfortable taking pictures, being on stage with the lights on me and the audience judging my appearance.

My now husband proposed to me in November of 2014, and with that came the realization that I wanted to make a change in my life!

I wanted to lose weight and become a more fit person for the life I had ahead of me.wedding dress workout transformation

The wedding was coming in October and I wanted to look amazing for my husband and feel better about myself while on stage.

A friend of mine asked me to join LiveFit Bootcamps with her. I pulled up to the building the first day and watched everyone doing their work out and seriously contemplated leaving right then and there!

I ignored that voice in my head and went in. Everyone at bootcamp was so friendly and motivating!

Derek pushed me past what I thought I couldn’t handle (even after explaining the exercise to me multiple times). At first, I struggled because I’m completely uncoordinated…. especially at the 6am sessions.

I was, and sometimes still am, obsessed with the stupid scale. Working at a veterinarian’s office, I’d weigh myself on the large animal scale almost every day and for the first month I wasn’t seeing very much improvement.

I felt like I was starving myself and working out nonstop but wasn’t seeing results fast enough. I messaged Derek and Rich multiple times (to the point that they were both probably sick of me) asking about food advice and at home exercises.

I lost the weight I wanted to lose, built and toned muscle I didn’t know I had!

I married my best friend and looked amazing doing it.

I also continued going to bootcamp 4 to 5 times a week. Two weeks led to 4 then to 8 months. I’ve gained so many amazing and motivating friends by going to bootcamp and I am so thankful to have such great trainers!

My goal for 2016 is to eventually LOVE burpees and gain more muscle and strength in arms!

With the help of Derek, Rich, Sara, and JT, I know I will meet these goals!

Well, maybe not the burpee one, but one can only hope and pray!
