Sure good things might come to you but, more often than not you have to work for what you want.
This is definitely the case with these four clients pictured. October 4th we had a prospective 2014 fitness, bikini and physique competitor meeting. 22 people showed up for the first meeting out of over 170 of our clients who were offered the opportunity.
We told these eager eyes how hard it would be to stick to the diet, trust the process, ward off the naysayers, have willpower to survive the holidays and to keep pushing on even when it gets extremely hard.
Fast-forward almost 8 months and only four remained. They set a goal, committed to themselves and the process and successfully completed one of the hardest challenges of their lives.
No one will ever know how hard it was for them.
No one will know the mind games that was played from low carbs, hunger, haters and the overwhelming feeling of having to step on stage in less than their underwear after this was all finished.
No one will know what it was like to not have a piece of candy on Halloween.
No one will know what it was like to avoid the extra dessert, food and gravy at Thanksgiving.
No one will no what it was like to not have a sip of beer, wine or alcohol…ever during your contest prep.
No one will know what it was like to avoid your coworkers famous cookies at Christmas.
No one will know what it’s like to not drink on New Years, not because they can’t or don’t want to, but because they are doing it for a greater goal.
No one will know what it’s like to not be able to eat chocolate on Valentine’s Day, whether they had a Valentine or not.
No one will know what it’s like to see posts and pictures of friends drinking green beer and eating corned beef and cabbage on St Patricks Day.
No one will know what it was like to have myself or Rich tell you that what you are doing was not good enough even though this was the hardest you have ever worked or committed to something in your life before.
No one will know what it is like to have your body critiqued every step of the way through pictures in your bathing suit and pinching 7 of the fattest areas of your body every two weeks.
No one will know how hard it was the final week to eat boiled chicken, asparagus and drink gallons of water.
No one will know the fears, doubts and reluctance of your stretch marks, c-section scars, acne or loose skin in the days and weeks leading up to the show to be on display in front of a thousand strangers.
Competing isn’t for everyone. Fitness isn’t for everyone. Bootcamp isn’t for everyone. Weight loss isn’t for everyone. Dieting isn’t for everyone.
But…if you are looking for a challenge, looking for a change and tired of how you currently look and feel, why not push yourself to a new goal?
No one will ever know how empowering it is to stand amongst over 100+ of the best physiques in the state.
No one will ever know how empowering it is to stand in front of a thousand strangers in less than your underwear confidently knowing this is the hardest you’ve ever worked and the best you’ve ever looked.
No one will ever know how empowering it is to motivate and inspire a whole new group of prospective men and women to work their hardest, feel their best and look even better.
Congratulations to Rolo, Lisa, Lisa and Shelly. You’ve done what few will ever do but hopefully inspired tens, hundreds and even thousands of others to make a change to get healthier, feel better and look better than they ever have before!
