Sometimes the simplest questions can bring out the most profound answers.

“What do you want?””

Have you ever asked yourself that before and if so have you listened to your answer?

I bet if you started asking yourself that more often, your daily actions would look a little different. It would be a constant reminder and awareness to chase what really makes you happy in life.

I also bet that your answer to yourself will never be: busy, tired, overweight, unmotivated, unhappy

But yet most of us continue to repeat the same daily habits and routines day after day, even though they do not reflect or lead to the life that we want.

Why?

Only you can really answer that, but usually it’s because you are too busy trying to make someone else happy or live by someone else’s standards.

That’s not working for you!

So today on Transformation Tuesday, I want you to focus on you. Listen to your thoughts during your brief moments of downtime or silence. What are they saying?

If the thoughts that consume your mind all day are not in line with the answer to “what do you want?” then we need to change things ASAP.

We are coming to the months of the year where seasonal depression hits hard and good habits die even harder. Fight the battles that you can fight!

Staying active and making healthy food choices daily are in your control.

Don’t give up on yourself in mid-November and expect your body to reward you instantaneously mid-January. It takes time, it takes work, it takes consistency.

Notice I did not say that it would take suffering, or sacrifice, or pain.

The reason why getting your body in shape is a process is because it’s like a relationship. The more you love it, the more it will love you back, and the more you will love what you see!

Don’t punish your body or treat it like a one-night stand and expect it to be ready for you, when you finally decide you are ready for it.

So today ask yourself “what do you want?” and listen to your answers. Ask yourself repeatedly, and listen repeatedly!

If you need someone to share your thoughts or help decipher where to start, I’m happy to help. Just hit reply and type away 🙂

Committed to your fitness success,

Derek
