Transformation Tuesday blog by: Lindsay Baumaister

I have always considered myself a fit athletic person and have always enjoyed working out. Ok, maybe “enjoy” is strong word but I really do like it!

After my son was born 8 years ago, I started working part-time so I could stay home with him and was able to work out regularly at the gym.

Fast-forward a few years — I went back to work full-time. I would get up super early in order to beat the traffic on my 1-hour commute to St. Pete.

Morning workouts were no longer an option (I am not a morning person so there was no way I was going to get up earlier than I already had to!).

By the time I picked my son up from school, helped with homework, figured out dinner and drove my son to whatever activity he was doing at the time and did all the other household stuff, I had no energy left to work out at night.

Then my daughter was born in December of 2014 and I started working from home in order to be home with her.

I tried to develop some sort of exercise routine but nothing really stuck.

My friend Ryan and I started talking about what we could do to step it up – we saw the results our friend Jill (Macaluso) was getting working out at LiveFit and figured – what the hell? Let’s give it a shot!

I don’t think we had any idea how it would really impact our lives.

I was definitely a little nervous coming that first day to bootcamp. Looking back it seems silly. But I remember thinking “I wonder how out-of-shape I really am?” and “I hope I can keep up” but really, it didn’t matter.

Right away everyone was so nice and welcoming and I could see almost instantly why I had heard that it’s like a big family there.

I quickly figured out that bootcamp is just what I needed in my life – something for me – even if it’s only 30 minutes a day. I just wish I could go more often! I’m addicted!

Another thing I love about LiveFit is that it’s not just about the workouts. The transformation challenges have really motivated me to step it up, especially with my diet.

Mostly because it makes me feel accountable for what I eat…and who doesn’t love a good challenge?

It’s so easy to get in a rut eating bad food, usually because it’s quick and easy (and tastes amazing! Grrr!!!!) but thankfully, the transformation challenges come with so many recipe ideas that are quick and easy healthy options (and are pretty damn tasty too)!

If I could say one thing to someone that is sitting there wanting to make a healthy change in their life, it would be to just get off your butt and do it.

Nobody is going to do it for you. Ok, that’s two things!
