Has the old theory of aging gracefully not lived up to expectations in your life?

Do you wake up feeling stiff and end your day exhausted?

The old saying goes if you do not use it, you lose it. But that does not mean you cannot get it back!

Today in 3 simple steps I’m going to show you how to start taking control of your health by taking care of your body.

You see sometimes it can get overwhelming and seem like the odds are stacked against you when you are trying to get back into shape.

The longer it has been, the longer it will take for new routines to settle into place. But, be prepared for it. Don’t be surprised that is difficult in the beginning.

You have settled into your comfort zone in life and it is going to take a little bit of hustle to get your ass out of your comfort zone!

The biggest problem I see most often is people trying to tackle too many new things at once.

When in reality, that is the same strategy that gets you into trouble with your professional life, work around the house and pretty much any other project you’ve tried to start in your life.

Ideally you should take on bite-size steps daily and focus on building momentum.

By winning each day you will then begin to win your week, your month and without even realizing it you will be in better shape at the end of 2017, then when you started the year. That’s a huge win!

Now let’s talk about how we are going to do that…

1.) STRETCH- Wake up 10 minutes earlier and go to bed 10 minutes earlier each day. To start and end your day, take 3-5 minutes to incorporate this daily stretching routine and start to loosen up those creaky body parts!

Hold each stretch for 20 seconds each and do each twice before moving onto the next stretch. Remember to exhale slowly during each stretch and DO NOT BOUNCE!

2.) MOVE- Go for a 10 minute walk as soon as you get home from work each day, no questions asked, no excuses. This is the start to developing a daily routine of movement after your work day is complete. Eventually this will turn into adding squats and push-ups after your walk, then adding in boot camp workouts and who knows what momentum will pick up from there.

The perfect at home, belly burning workout

3.) REDUCE- Look for all opportunities to cut out sugar from your diet. There is nothing that causes a fluctuation in energy around will power than sugar in your system. Most people want to make so many diet changes from the very beginning that they get frustrated and quit before they have even had a chance to see results. Instead, start with this small change and you’ll see how much easier it can be.

It’s never easy to start a healthy lifestyle transformation but it is very easy to begin with one step at a time.

Remember, the only way that you are not successful is if you quit trying.

Stick to the basics, plan one day at a time and build your fat-burning momentum!
