Sorry for the book, but here it is.
I was first introduced to boot camp in May 2014. One of my great friends Allison Fowler tried to convince me to give it a try. I wasn’t sure if this was for me.
The thought of being judged by those around me and possibly making a fool of myself had me question why in the world I would ever do it.
Not to mention the cost, how could I spend that much money on myself when I have a family to think about?
But with the push of Allie, I finally went.
To say I was just nervous would be an understatement, I was scared to death.
Many of my fears however were alleviated when I walked up only to see that not everyone was a fit bodybuilder like I had imagined. Everyone greeted me with a smile and welcomed me.
I tried so hard that first day that I ended up falling over a tractor tire and sported a bruise on my inner thigh for a couple of weeks.
But I wanted more. I finally joined boot camp in July 2014 and was surprised to see how out of shape I was. I would come home after every session, lay on the floor under my ceiling fan, and try very hard not to throw-up.
In August I had a setback and started making excuses. I was trying to manage a full time job, three kids, and had started going to college again for my bachelors. I just didn’t have time.
I hovered over that cancel button on pay-pal for a good hour before pushing the button and I quit.
I couldn’t believe how devastated I was.
Boot camp had given me such a feeling of accomplishment, and I finally felt like I was doing something for me!! How could I quit on myself?
After my third child I struggled with my weight and was so unhappy with how I looked. Those around me would say, “You look fine,” but I was just not happy.
I had run four 5k’s with Allie and my oldest daughter, and still did not see any changes in how I looked.
So I stopped making excuses and found a way to make it work, and in October I went back. This time for good.
After placing 5th overall in the October challenge I was sure this was for me.
I have learned so much about myself since joining, and the support and encouragement I have received from Derek, Rich, Allie, fellow boot campers, and my husband has truly helped me see that if you put your mind to something, the possibilities are endless.
I initially just wanted to become healthier and feel comfortable with how I looked. But I can do things now I never thought possible.
A push-up…..who me?
My future goals are to complete a four hour Muscle Retreat with the best trainers ever, as well as run and complete the Savage Race.
I’m a mom with a busy schedule, if I can do it so can you.
I promise it will be one of the best decision you will ever make.

Beginners are encouraged to attend either our 8:30am or 4:45pm or 7pm beginner sessions initially until you’re acclimated and ready for a greater challenge. Please arrive 15 minutes early you first day.
After your first session you can attend as many workouts as you’d like, anyday, anytime!
