What is a skin fold body composition test?

Well, a skin fold body composition test is a way to measure just how much of the number that appears on the scale is made up of body fat and how much of it isn’t.

When we say that the number on the scale means nothing this is why.

Because you are completely clueless as to what the composition of that scale number even is. It is a false measurement of “progress” that you have all been taught to rely on.

When challenges at LiveFit come around, we all stand in line to get our skin fold test done to give us a baseline starting point to track our progress, ultimately in the form of a body fat percentage. A percent of our overall bodyweight that is body fat.

We test three different spots to come up with this number; the triceps, abdominal area, and thigh.

Our end goal is to come up with a smaller percentage of body fat via smarter food choices and exercise at the end of the challenge by measuring the exact same spots again.

While this is a more accurate way to track progress rather than stepping on a scale there IS still an issue here.

You store body fat in more than just those 3 areas!

So this throws off how precise we can hone in your macronutrient numbers when constructing your meal plan, which will possibly hinder efficiency of and slow your progress.
