Guest blog post by Transformation Tuesday success story and mother of 2 Brandi Diaz:
It has been almost a year since my last transformation story. And what a year it has been!!!
Brandi’s first Transformation Tuesday story >>>> https://derekkuryliw.com/brandi-transformation-tuesday/
I got engaged, we blended two families together, I went from 2 kids to 4 and we have our wedding planned for this September. Things are crazy and hectic and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
After my transformation story, I really hit a plateau. I kept working out, trying to eat right, but I just couldn’t find my niche.
Then in November, Derek put together a little challenge just to help keep us on track through the holidays. Following those guidelines I really seemed to find my balance in life. I needed to find eating habits that were more “real life” and would fit into my daily life with my family.
I learned how to eat and yet not have massive restrictions. I’m pretty strict during the work week, but I still eat whatever the entire family is having for dinner. I just watch portions and I make sure all my numbers work out for the day on MyFitnessPal. I really liked it!
It didn’t feel like a “diet” so I just stuck to it.
It had been almost 10 months since I compared before and after pics. So, I decided to line up three pics. The first was me when I started, the second is 6 months in, and the third is me currently. I was completely blown away!!
I honestly started to cry when I saw the pictures. I had no idea I had changed so much! And all of that by just sticking with it, eating right, and going to Bootcamp 4 days a week.
I looked at that first picture and remembered the really dark place I was in at that time during my divorce/custody battle. Few people truly knew how depressed, scared, and anxious I was. At that time, I saw no light and no hope of my current situation ever ending.
And then I see myself now and think wow! I made it!
I made it through, what I considered, the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life. And I’m on the other side a completely new me. I’m in the best shape of my life!
It is extremely emotional for me. I just want others to know…..don’t give up!
Stay focused. And keep pushing forward.
And one day, you are gonna look back at your beginning picture and cry and say, wow! I made it!
