Guest blog by Transformation Tuesday feature and bootcamper: Lloyd Federle
Growing up I was very athletic and involved in school sports such as soccer and wrestling.
My weight was never an issue.
As I grew older my sports turned into boating and riding sportbikes. In March of 1999, I suffered a motorcycle accident which lead to a week stay in the hospital due to a severe knee injury.
After shattering my knee and having multiple surgeries, including a bone graph from my hip, I went through physical therapy and a total time of 4 months in a halo.
Even after being told I would never walk normal again, I continued to do what I enjoy best… enjoying my interests in life.
I went on to race shifter karts and enjoyed almost every weekend boating and beating all odds by knee boarding and wake boarding. This further lead to jet skiis, racing four wheelers and my current interest which is racing cars.
Along with the racing car sport comes long hours of getting the car ready to race and less time for physical sports and proper exercising.
I was at my heaviest weight in 2007, weighing in at 238lbs at 5’8″.
In 2009, I tried a diet pill and a meal plan in which I only consumed like 500 calories a day. I dropped nearly 50lbs in a short time and weighed in at about 188lbs.
Sure, I dropped weight, however there was no muscle gain and within a year off the low calorie diet, I gained it all back.
I had to make a change.
I knew if I committed to a work out I enjoyed, I would stick with it. After a friend had mentioned she was attending a bootcamp, it sparked my interest.
I was skeptical at first because just a half hour work out seemed to good to be true.
However, after giving New Port Richey Bootcamp a try, I was hooked. I left there then and continue to leave there in a sweat every time!
I see continued improvements in reps and times. I learned ways to accommodate my injury into my exercises.
I’ve lost a total of 35 pounds since March 2014, I’m also down to under 11% body fat!
My quick results and positive attitude toward bootcamp has encouraged my friends and even my wife to join!
She not only enjoys it, but she is even following a nutritional meal plan and private training with a goal of competing in a bikini contest March 2015. Even my daughter enjoys going to bootcamp and seeing the other kids there.
For anyone considering making a change in their health, try out bootcamp.
I was one of those people paying monthly gym fees and not using them.
Joining New Port Richey Bootcamp has been a positive life change.
I would like to take a moment to thank Selina Harris for introducing me to the bootcamp, Rich and Richard for all the hard workouts and encouragement, and Derek Kuryliw for sharing his time and knowledge to help others achieve their goals!

————————————————————————————————————————
Lloyd has been a workhorse since day 1 at bootcamp.
He was referred by someone who had been with bootcamp for a while and I knew he knew what to expect when he started.
The first thing I noticed was his big knee brace. Like most male clients before him, I thought he would come and tell me what he could or couldn’t do.
Instead, he briefly explained a motorcycle accident (way less in depth than above), what his range of motion limitations were and then went to work!
We’ve tweaked a few movements here and there for him and occasionally left out a squat, jump or run on the days his knee has bothered him worse.
But, Lloyd has never missed a workout!
He’s consistent. He’s determined. He’s competitive.
All of those things work into his favor.
Do I think he eats perfectly and has a diet plan he follows to a ‘T’?
NO WAY!
But, together with his wife and daughter they have made a complete lifestyle change.
They make better food choices, exercise together and consciously make family decisions that impact their health more than before starting this fitness journey.
No crash dieting or magic pills.
Just a solid educational foundation of what it takes to get healthier and a continuous consistent effort to put that education to work for them.
That is a win!
Keep it up Lloyd. Your path has already inspired those closest to you and many more that will read this story.
I know it hasn’t been easy, but without question I know that it has all been worth it!
It’s a pleasure working with you Lloyd and I cannot wait to see how far you can take this fitness path together with your family.
You’re an inspiration.
Committed to your fitness success and the next phase of your journey,

Check out these before and after pictures since March of 2014. In half of a calendar year, Lloyd’s been able to make changes that would’ve taken years to achieve without the proper balance of exercise, nutrition and cardiovascular conditioning from our bootcamp program.
