There is something to be said for consistency, just showing up and most importantly believing in yourself.
Today is the start of the transformation challenge for about 260 of my bootcamp and online clients.
This, just like New Year’s gives so many people false hope that change is on the way.
Do I say that because I believe change is not possible?
Not at all, come on, I’m the eternal optimist!
I say this because so many people expect change but never do anything to create change.
More importantly when they do something to create change, they do not stick to it consistently.
In my years success takes a deliberate and consistent effort towards one goal, day after day no matter what happens.
I love when people say that bootcamp is an overnight success…
===>> Those are the people that do not see that I have written an email to all of my clients, past and present, at least 4 days per week for 8 years straight.
===>> Those are also the people that did not see that I shot a minimum of three educational videos every week in 2017 totaling over 200 videos in a single calendar year.
===>> Those are also the people that did not see that I left my full-time job when we only had 18 bootcamp clients and 29 email subscribers.
===>> Those are also the people that did not see that my wife Michelle left her full time job when we only have 29 clients and 60 email subscribers.
===>> Those are the people that do not see me still writing emails, answering texts, writing workouts and shooting videos even on vacation.
(I now email almost 3,000 women and men just like you EVERY morning, 7 days per week)
===>> Those are also the people that did not see me leave my grandmother, the matriarch of our family, on her hospice bed as she took her last breath to go instruct a bootcamp session in our first year.
(don’t worry, she was my biggest supporter and would have encouraged me to do the same)
===>> Those are the people that did not see me typing blogs, replying to emails and writing workouts with my face bandaged up after double-jaw surgery in 2013 after a nasty car accident.
===>> Those are the people that do not see me sending hundreds and thousands of texts on weekends and holidays because I know I have a better chance to reach and help my clients on those days.
===>> Those are the people that do not realize that the work never stops even when you are in a bad mood, stressed, tired, irritable, friendship troubles, marriage troubles, financial troubles…
Good days, bad days and EVERY day you just need to show up.
All of your obstacles are meant to keep on your toes, not derail you.
Challenges are what keeps things exciting and more rewarding when you overcome them.
Think about when you sit and reminisce with your spouse or friends… Don’t you always discuss the things you have overcome?
Do you ever discuss the things that came easy to you? Probably not.
There is a sense of pride in seeing something to the end and having success.
But most of the time people are too afraid to fail which hinders them from having success.
But without failures, there will never be progress.
Each failure and each struggle has taught me the appropriate direction for my next step and actions. After all we are supposed to learn from our mistakes right?
So today as you take on a new challenge and are faced with new obstacles, remember to stand tough and believe in yourself!
No one is going to do the work for you. No one is going to care about your success more than you do. IT IS UP TO YOU. YES YOU!
So if you are serious, be fearless, be relentless and be consistent towards the actions that move you forward and closer to your goals… no matter what!
And maybe, just maybe, someone will call you an overnight success also 🙂
Dilly dilly and cheers to that day!
Committed to your fitness success,
Derek Kuryliw, Your Fitness Yoda 🙂
