Where are you from? I was born and raised in Florida.
First lifting experience or athletic experience? I was not a child athlete, but always dreamed of being a gymnast. My first lifting experience was in highschool when I chose weightlifting as an elective. I was pretty diligent about health and fitness into highschool, trying my best to bring my parents into the lifestyle. We lived within walking distance of a gym and my dad would go with me occassionally. I fell off from it around 20 years old and rediscovered my passion after having my daughters.
Something unique about you or life experience?
I’m naturally an introvert, which surprises people who end up getting to know me because I’m quite chatty. I really have to push myself out of my comfort zones in daily activities. I also have a hearing impairment that is corrected by hearing aids, but I don’t wear them. If you talk to me from behind I will likely not hear you or be able to comprehend what you are saying. I’m decently good at reading lips and I rock at context clues and body language. Yay for adaptation! If you have my eyes, you have my ears and my attention.
Year you were certified as a trainer?
Biggest fitness accomplishment?
Hmm…I feel like my biggest fitness accomplishment has been a mental shift of “I want to look like this..” to “I want to feel like this..(strong, empowered, confident)”.
Favorite client success story or accomplishment?
I love the sparkle in someones eyes when they accomplish something they didnt think they could. It isnt about lifting the most weight or running the fastest. It’s about heart and growth as a person. I live for those moments in every aspect of my life! More specifically, I loved helping my friend/client grow her lower body and shoulders. She was very focused and driven to follow through with the workouts I created. Her physical transformation in 6 months has been remarkable but her confidence in herself and her capabilities surpasses it!
Your favorite type of client to work with?
Continuing with the theme from above, my favorite client to work with is one who is enthusiastic, dedicated, and consistent.
I have an abundance of favorites, here are a few!
“As soon as you truly commit to making something happen, the ‘how’ will reveal itself” – Tony Robbins
“Today will be what it is. I will be who I am. And there will be beauty in both.”
“Don’t let your struggle become your identity”
“I have no special talents, I am only passionately curious” – Albert Einstein
