Where are you from?
I was bornin St PeteFlorida and I have livedin Florida my whole life. I went to college in Thomasville Georgia for about two years. I was actually thinking about staying there once I graduated but after only two years of the winter, I quickly realized I can not handle cold.
First lifting or athletic experience
My first athletic experience was with sports. Growing up with two brothers, being able to play sports was pretty much a requirement if I wanted to hangout with them. Everyday we grew up playing outside with all the neighbor kids doing all different kinds of sports ( basketball, kickball, tennis, football, baseball ). As I got older, I joined a little league team and was instantly hooked on playing softball. At one point I was even on 3 different teams. I played all throughout little league, high school and even play 2 years of college.
Something Unique about you or life experience
I’m always up and willing to try new experiences in life; how else are you going to know what you like and don’t like? For example, right now I am actually learning how to scuba drive and become certified and I absolutely love it. I love the water, learning about it and what lays underneath it. This past year, I actually got a chance to swim with giant stingrays and snorkel with the fish on one of the cruises. It was beyond amazing.
Another example would be when I went rock-climbing, I found out I was scared of heights and I did not want to let go on the wall. I can only go to a certain point and then I lock up. It was a different experience at the least.
I am still so young and a little adventurous so I can only imagine what I may get myself into as I get older.
Biggest Lifting accomplishment
I do not really have any “lifting accomplishments” just yet. To be honest, coming to bootcamp was really the first time I ever really lifted heavy weights or pushed myself to grab weight. Of course doing softball through out high school and college I had to do weight training and we had weight days but nothing like bootcamp. We would split up between position and we worked on the body part that our position used the most and with me being a catcher was always legs. Which I why I believe that I am most comfortable doing legs. I have gotten a lot stronger on my upper body since being at bootcamp and I am even pushing myself to go heavier as well. So I could say that stepping out of my confront zone and even joining PT sessions with Rich has help a lot with my upper body, but I know I can push myself more.
Favorite Client Success Story
My favorite story would have to be my own as of right now. Personally I am not a fan of talking about myself and what I can and can not do. I am always so hard on myself to do better then before. All of my life my weight, body type, and even mind would bounce back and forth, up and down. I would lose a lot of weight and be “skinny” but I wasn’t healthy and most of all I was mentally exhausted so I would gain weight again quickly. As I got older I realized that this is not good and its even affecting my health causing me to make many doctor trips. I knew I had to make a change and for good. But I didn’t really know where to start. To be honest, I wasn’t really sure on what to do and how to get started. So I did some research and some self thinking and I started to realize that I was so worried about my weight I wasn’t really paying attention to what I was eating, or not eating for that matter. I was focusing on a number that doesn’t even matter. I then started to take measurements of different body parts as well as before pictures. I started to notice that even though i was gaining weight, my body fat percentage would go down so therefore I was gaining muscle. Once I stopped focusing on one number I realized that my weight is going to change and it not important.
My Favorite type of Client to work with
My favorite type of client to work with is someone who is not willing to give up, even when it gets hard. These are the ones who finish even when they feel like they cant. Someone who is willing to give it their all and do better then before. It dose not matter how long it takes you to finish, as long as you do.
“I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back”
“Enjoy your sweat because hard work doesn’t guarantee success, but without it, you don’t have a chance.”
“Always follow your dreams. Don’t let alone tell you that you cant be something. “
