I started LiveFit Bootcamp thanks to two friends that were also attending.
I was at my son’s football game his Senior year and saw them and knew I was going to be an empty nester soon and it was my time to start thinking about myself and needed something to fill the extra time once he went away to College.
I had always been an athletic person, but that all went on the back burner once the kids got involved in their own activities and sports, working, etc.
I was initially nervous I would not be able to handle the sessions or keep up. Not a fan of working out in the FL sun and the thought of not being in an air conditioned gym – UGH (who does that)!.
But soon I realized the trainers make modifications when necessary and push you in other circumstances. They quickly knew my limitations and when I needed the extra push and could handle a little more.
LiveFit became my outlet. My “me” time!
I didn’t care about the heat. The other clients that attended also became my support team and I became theirs. We have met goals together and cheered each other on when we thought we couldn’t go any further.
In November, I had been there a year – the scale was not my friend. While I lost inches, slowly – I saw and felt the difference in the way my clothes fit and how I felt.
That was the most important thing to me. I wanted to feel healthy again and strong (and I told Rolo I wanted a J. Lo booty – HA)!
Working hard, lifting heavier weights, doing my best to attend at least 4 days a week, joined PT. But still wasn’t seeing exactly what I wanted.
Then at one of my PT sessions, I was talking with Rolo – and he said it all comes down to nutrition. I was not paying enough attention to that.
So when we started this last challenge, my goal was to be very serious about my nutrition and to seriously consider the fuel I was giving my body.
That is what pushed me over the edge. I saw faster results during that period because I was being smart about my choices and when I was eating during the day.
So my advice – to anyone that may find themselves in the same situation – you know your body, start small.
Achievable goals – stay consistent and when you reach that goal, make a new one and so on.
Change things up, all the time, it keeps the body thinking and working to figure out how to be the most efficient. In the meantime, weight is being lost, inches are being lost, muscle is getting stronger.
