First ever guest post by Michelle Kuryliw:

Hello Everyone!

Derek and I had our first nutrition seminar last Friday evening and Saturday morning. We had a great turn out. Everyone was able to hear lots of interesting material, create a customized personal meal plan and get their diet and nutrition questions answered.

We also offered healthy, waist trimming meal and snack alternatives. Below I have listed out the specific recipes we used. Each recipe was created to either detoxify the body, increase protein intake, provide a protein and energy breakfast option, offer healthy snack choices and help to burn the fat around the waistline that doesn’t seem to ever go away!

Sometimes it is as simple as making several small “lifestyle changes” instead of a complete overhaul.

I hope you find these helpful and beneficial in your quest to fitness and a healthier life!

Till next time, Michelle

Fat flush and detox  “spa water”

Ingredients:
3 limes
2 lemons
3 cucumbers
1 bunch of mint
1 gallon of purified water
Use a pitcher that can hold a gallon of water
slice all lemons limes and cucumber, add to pitcher with cold purified water (regular is fine too!)
Lastly remove the stems of the mint ( you don’t have to use the entire bunch) and you can also slice up the mint of just put in pitcher as is. Mix all together, chill and enjoy
You can adjust this to taste…if you prefer more lemon than lime, change the ratio. Drink daily to help flush the fat and this also counts towards your daily water intake!
Lemons: Help the absorption of sugars and calcium and cuts down your cravings for sweets.
Limes: Promote a healthy digestive tract
Cucumbers: Act as a diuretic and flush fat cells. It is alkalizing to the body (if you have an alkaline body, no diseases can live there), and increase your energy.
Mint: Helps the digestion of fat.

Ranch Snack and Veggie Dip

Ingredients:
16 oz of non-fat greek yogurt (you of course can sub out non-fat for low fat, 2% etc.)
1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning mix
Mix both together and enjoy with fresh veggies of your choice.
For 16oz of non-fat greek yogurt you’re consuming: 0 grams Fat, 18 grams carbs, and 46 grams of PROTEIN!!!

Yogurt-Berry Parfait

Ingredients:
16oz non-fat greek yogurt
8oz of cool whip
24 oz of frozen mixed berries
2 tbsp of honey
Measure out about out about a 1/4 cup of berries and set aside
Mix together yogurt, cool whip, and 1 tbsp of honey.
With the rest of the berries combine the other tbsp of honey in a separate bowl.
Use large/deep bowl to combine all ingredients.
Start with putting the berries as the bottom layer, then add the yogurt/cool whip mixture on top.
Finish off with sprinkling the 1/4 cup of berries on top.
Put in refridgerator for about an hour before eating.
*Can add granola to parfait as well as an added treat

Ezekiel sandwiches

Ingredients:
1 loaf of ezekiel or “sprouted grain bread”
To keep cost down since the ezekiel is more on the expensive side, I used
Aldi’s “Fit & Active” smoked honey ham and oven roasted turkey breast.
I also used provolone cheese.
Of course any and all veggies and condiments you want to add!
* The Aldi smoked honey ham is 97% fat free with 10 grams of protein.
The oven roasted turkey breast is 99% fat free with 11grams of protein.
* I chose to used provolone cheese, because it usually is made with skim
milk, has less saturated fat and has 5 grams of protein per slice.
Swiss could be another healthier option as well.
* Ezekiel is a “living bread”, and complete source of protein.
* If you love mayo try using a healthier alternative, grab the mayo made with olive oil( 0% saturated fat)

or look up a recipe online to make your own.Committed to your fitness success,
