When I first received the text from Derek I had to read it many times. Then I thought maybe it was a mistake. I’m a very shy and personal person so writing this was hard for me.

I’ve always struggles with my weight. I used to be your typical yoyo dieter, I hated working out and giving up the foods that I loved. I loved my soda and chips!

I wanted the easiest diet with the least amount of activity possible.

I would always say “I will start tomorrow” but tomorrow never came.

Three years ago I broke my leg pretty bad. I ended up having surgery which involved in eight screws and a plate. During that time I let myself go. After that I just kept using the same excuse I have a bad ankle I can’t workout.

Or my other excuse was I’m too busy.

I had joined a gym about a year ago and went able a total of five times. I would walk in the gym and walk on the treadmill for about 15 minutes and call that working out.

I would hear Alice talk about doing bootcamp and thinking how she was crazy to doing it.

My sister had asked me to do a six week weight loss challenge where Alice was going. I automatically said no. There was no way I was doing that.

I knew that I needed to do something because I was unhappy with myself. I went back and forth and finally decided to just give it a try. After I hit the submit button I thought to myself “What did I just do”.

I showed up on the first night scared out of my mind. I wanted to turn around and run but I pushed thru it. After the first week I really enjoyed going. If I missed I would get mad at myself.

After about three week I started to see results. I could believe it.

Once six weeks was up and it was finally weigh in I was nervous. Once I received the measurements I was in complete shock. I didn’t believe that progress that I made.

I’m excited to say that in April I will be competing in my first 5K mud run with others from boot camp. If you were to ask me four months ago if I thought that I could flip a tire or even finish a complete workout I would said “No I have a bad ankle.”

I would not be where I’m at today without the support and guidance of my boot camp family!

I would like to thank my boyfriend Adam for always showing me the wonderful support. Also, for always saying how proud of me..

And finally thank you to Derek and Richard for always giving me that little pushed that I needed. I what I thought was just going to be a six week challenge actual turned into a lifestyle change.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

If you keep repeating what doesn’t work, that is crazy…literally.
